Introduction
This document provides an overview of the Reverse Planning app's pages. Each page serves a specific purpose within the planning workflow, from main activity pages where planning work is performed to setup pages where the app is configured. This guide helps you understand what each page is for and where to find specific functionality. Detailed descriptions of each page's features and fields will be covered in separate documentation sections.
Main Activity Pages
Reverse Planning (App Cockpit)
The central dashboard and starting point for the Reverse Planning app. This page provides quick access to the main planning activities, links to setup pages, learning resources, and support options. It serves as your navigation hub for all reverse planning tasks.
Simple MRP Planning
A worksheet-style page where you perform material requirements planning to identify items that need to be ordered. The page displays planning lines showing which items to order, in what quantities, and when they should be ordered to meet demand. This is one of the primary work pages where you review and process planning suggestions.
Direct Replenishment
A worksheet page for manually creating replenishment orders for items requiring immediate attention. Unlike automated planning runs, this page allows you to quickly generate specific purchase or production orders on an as-needed basis. It provides flexibility for handling urgent or exceptional planning situations.
Move Demand Dates
A worksheet page specifically designed for adjusting demand dates when items cannot be delivered on time. The page shows items where delivery dates need to be changed and allows you to update due dates to realistic delivery schedules. This helps manage customer expectations when supply constraints are identified.
Sales Order Handling
A list page showing sales order lines that are integrated with planning calculations. This page tracks which sales orders are impacting planning and their current status, providing visibility into the link between customer orders and planning suggestions.
Reverse Planning Worksheet
A streamlined requisition worksheet optimized for reverse planning workflows. This is the central worksheet where planning suggestions from Simple MRP Planning, Direct Replenishment, and Move Demand Dates are transferred before creating actual orders. The page allows you to review, modify, and execute planning suggestions in a familiar worksheet format, serving as the final review and execution point before carrying out suggestions to create purchase orders, production orders, or transfer orders.
Overstock Management Pages
Overstock Items
The main page for identifying and managing items with excess inventory. This page allows you to define criteria for what constitutes overstock (based on quantity multiples or inventory values) and then displays items meeting those criteria. It helps prevent excessive inventory buildup and identify opportunities to reduce stock levels.
Overstock Items Subform
A supporting page that displays within the main Overstock Items page. It shows the list of individual items that have been identified as overstock based on the defined rules. This is where you see the actual results of your overstock analysis.
Overstock Items Rules Subform
A configuration subform within the Overstock Items page where you define quantity-based rules for identifying overstock. You can set up multiple rules based on different quantity thresholds to categorize varying levels of overstock situations.
Overstock Items Template List
A list page showing all saved overstock analysis templates. Each template contains a complete set of rules and criteria for identifying overstock items, allowing you to run different types of overstock analysis for various purposes or item categories.
Configuration and Setup
Reverse Planning Setup
Central configuration page for the app where you can define general settings such as how sales dates should be aligned, whether to auto-align dates, and supply line visibility options.
Planning Templates
A list page showing all available planning templates. Each template represents a saved planning scenario with specific settings for which items to plan, date ranges, triggers, and automation options. This page is where you create, edit, and organize your planning templates.
Planning Template (Card)
The detail page for configuring a single planning template. This page contains all the settings that define how a planning run should work, including item filters, date ranges, inventory triggers, low-level code processing, and automation rules. Each template can be customized for different planning scenarios.
Planning Template Categories
A configuration page that assigns planning template categories to individual users. This page controls role-based access by determining which categories (and therefore which templates) each user can see and use. It enables different teams to access only relevant planning scenarios.
User Planning Template Categories
Defines which planning template categories each user can access, enabling role-based access to specific planning scenarios.
Reverse Planning Worksheet Setup
A setup page specifically for configuring the Reverse Planning Worksheet. This page allows you to customize the journal behavior and default settings to match your workflow preferences.
Rolled-up Lead Time
A list page displaying calculated cumulative lead times for items. For manufactured items, this shows the total lead time including all component lead times through the entire production structure. This page helps you understand realistic delivery timeframes for complex items.
Filtering
Item Filter Templates
A list page showing saved filter sets for items. These templates store commonly used item selection criteria that can be quickly applied when running planning calculations. They save time by eliminating the need to manually set up filters repeatedly.
SKU Filter Templates
Similar to Item Filter Templates but specifically for Stock Keeping Units (SKU - item-location combinations). This page stores fil1100 sets that define which SKU combinations to include in planning runs. It's particularly useful when you need location-specific planning.
Suggest Date Templates
A list page for managing date calculation templates. These templates define rules for automatically suggesting order dates based on various business conditions and triggers. They help automate the date determination process during planning runs.
Suggest Date Triggers
A configuration page showing the specific conditions that activate date suggestion rules. Each trigger defines when a particular date calculation should be applied during the planning process. This page works in conjunction with Suggest Date Templates to automate date management.
Suggest Qty Templates
A list page for managing quantity calculation templates. These templates contain rules for automatically calculating suggested order quantities based on inventory policies, order modifiers, and other business rules. They help standardize quantity suggestions across planning runs.
