Release Date: 28. August 2026

Release Summary

You can now export Information Matrix lines and Master Data Worksheet Templates straight to Excel, making it easier to work with your specifications outside Business Central.

This release also tightens up document transfers, batch imports, and archive safety across Master Data Information.

New Feature

Export Information Matrix Lines to Excel

You can now export the current view of the Information Matrix to Excel with the Export Information Matrix Lines to Excel action, keeping the same columns and layout you see on screen.

Export and Import Master Data Worksheet Templates

You can now export a Master Data Worksheet Template to Excel and import it back, using the Export Templates to Excel and Import Templates from Excel actions on the Import Templates page.

Why it matters: Use this to back up a template, move it to another company or environment, or hand it to a colleague to edit offline.

Two new extension points on the Item Variant Creation Worksheet

Two new integration events let another app hook into the Item Variant Creation Worksheet: OnBeforeInsertMasterDataImpWksh fires before each suggested line is written, and OnBeforeRefreshMasterDataCreatingWksh fires before the column captions and visibility are refreshed. Both let a subscriber adjust the result or take over entirely.

Why it matters: These are for partners and developers extending the app — they make it possible to drive the worksheet's lines and column layout from your own logic without modifying Master Data Information. Nothing changes for standard users.

Improvements

Confirmation before deleting Information Values with archive history

Deleting an Information Value that has archive entries now always asks you to confirm first, wherever the delete happens — Specification on Pages, the Information Matrix, or Information Setup. Choosing not to continue leaves the value, its archive entries, and the field on the Specification page untouched.

Why it matters: Previously this safeguard only covered a couple of delete paths. It now protects every way an Information Value can be removed, including from custom pages and third-party integrations, so archived history can't be lost by accident.

Sales-line notes carried through to the purchase order footer

For drop-shipment and special-order purchase lines, notes added on the originating sales line now also show up under the Master Data Information action on the Purchase Order, alongside the specification values that were already being transferred.

Batch import opens on the right template

The Master Data Batch Import to Worksheet action on the Import Worksheet page now opens the Batch Import Lines page already filtered to your current batch's template, instead of defaulting to the first template in the list.

Quick Start help links point to the new documentation site

The Question & Answers and What's New links on the Quick Start page now open the new Abakion Docs site instead of the old help center.

Bug Fixes

Creating new Information Values from the lookup

Fixed an issue where you could no longer create a new Information Value directly from the value lookup on a Specification on Pages field. You can type a new value straight into the lookup again — it's checked against Logical Dependencies before it's offered — and a new Information Values action in the lookup, plus a Logical Dependencies shortcut on the Information Values list, take you straight to the related setup.

Logical Dependencies could still be bypassed

Fixed an issue where Logical Dependencies rules for Information Codes only filtered the value lookup, not other ways of setting a value. Invalid combinations of dependent Information Codes can no longer slip through.

Why it matters: If you rely on Logical Dependencies to keep information codes consistent, this closes a gap where invalid combinations could previously be created through import, copy, or API calls.

Specification on Pages error when creating a Production Order from a Sales Order

Fixed an issue where creating a Production Order from a Sales Order could raise an error and leave Specification on Pages fields on the Production Order Lines blank.

Sales Line Reference not transferred to a Credit Memo from a Return Order

Fixed an issue where a Sales Line Reference Master Data Information value wasn't transferred to a Sales Credit Memo when it originated from a Sales Return Order. The Credit Memo's own Master Data on Documents setup is now respected instead of the Return Order's.

File Placement value not saved on an existing document line

Fixed an issue where changing the File Placement field on an existing Master Data on Documents line didn't save the change.

Batch import failing with multiple selected values

Fixed an issue where a batch import could fail with a validation error when updating existing Master Data Information with multiple selected values, on the Import Worksheet page.

Danish number format on archived entries

Fixed an issue where numeric values on the Archived Entries page displayed in US format (a period) instead of Danish format (a comma).

Error adding an attachment to a new Information row

Fixed an issue where adding an attachment to a newly created row on Information Setup could fail with a technical error.

Copy Job with Master Data failing for long user IDs

Fixed an issue where the Copy Job with Master Data action failed for users whose sign-in ID is longer than 20 characters.

Merged descriptions cut short

Fixed an issue where descriptions merged from Master Data Information into an item's Description or Description 2 field could be cut short partway through the merge.
