Master Data Information — Product Roadmap
Here's where Master Data Information is heading. The next release is largely about dependability — a long list of day-to-day issues resolved across specifications, imports and attachments — together with Excel export and file selection from documents. After that, configuration gets tidied up and logical dependencies extend further.

Pick files from Master Data when working on documents
When you work with documents you can select files held as Master Data directly, so the right attachments are always within reach.
Export the Information Matrix to Excel
Information Matrix lines can be exported to Excel, so the matrix can be reviewed, shared or reworked outside Business Central.
Specifications that behave
Several specification issues are resolved: creating a production order from a sales order no longer errors, sales line references carry through to a sales credit memo created from a return order, and specifications can be created for items whose number contains special characters.
Dependable imports and copies
Batch import lines load correctly even when a blank import template exists, copy jobs no longer fail on longer user identifiers, and invalid combinations of information codes are prevented rather than merely filtered out.
Numbers and attachments that work as expected
Numeric values display in your own regional format rather than always in US format, adding an attachment to a new information row no longer runs into a write-transaction error, and deleting an information setup record now warns you before archived entries go with it.
Cleaner navigation and extensibility
Dead links are removed from the Quick Start menu, and new integration events open up master-data record creation for tailored extensions.

- Export and import worksheet templates — move Master Data Worksheet templates between companies and environments with dedicated reports, instead of rebuilding them by hand
- Master data onto purchase orders — transferring Master Data Information from a sales order to a purchase order completes without error
- Complete description merges — merging descriptions brings across all information values, including the second item description line

Logical dependencies reach further
Logical dependencies will apply to specifications used with Master Data on Documents, so the same validation logic holds wherever specifications are built.
A clearer setup page
Field visibility and placement on the Master Data Information setup page are reorganised and obsolete fields removed, so configuration is easier to follow.
Consistent lists wherever you open them
The Master Data import template list looks and behaves the same regardless of where you open it from.
