New Features
Client Matter Intake
New "Controller New Requests" tile added to the role center for a quick overview of new requests (3497)+
A new tile, Controller New Requests, has been added to the Abakion Legal Basis role center. The tile is located in the Client/Matter Creations group, between Recently Finished and Controller My Requests.
The tile works the same way as Controller My Requests, but only shows requests with status New. Clicking the tile opens the Client/Matter Creation List, filtered on the current controller and status New.
The purpose is to give controllers a queue/inbox where they can continuously see whether new client or matter creation requests have come in, without having to filter or scroll through all statuses manually.
Case Work
New Sector field on client and matter cards and in CMI – automatically inherited from client to matter (3562)+
A new field, Sector, has been added, which can be filled in on clients and matters. The field is shown on the Client Card under the Classification group, and on the Matter Card under "Show more" in the client info group. Sector is not a dimension, but a lookup to a new sector table with a code and description.
In Client Matter Intake (CMI), the fields Client Sector and Matter Sector have been added to both CMI screens. When creating a brand-new client, the user fills in Client Sector themselves, which is automatically suggested as Matter Sector. When creating a matter for an already existing client, both fields are filled in automatically based on the client's sector; here, Client Sector is read-only – like the client's other fields in that situation – while Matter Sector can still be changed.
Bug Fixes
Matter creation in CMI failed if a comment in the remarks window exceeded 80 characters (3509)+
When creating a matter via the CMI flow ("Create matter"), the process could fail if a comment in the CMI remarks window was longer than 80 characters. This happened because the comment text had to be transferred to a field with a character limit of 80 characters, which caused the matter creation to get stuck.
Comments exceeding 80 characters are now automatically split into multiple lines instead of being rejected. The split occurs at spaces wherever possible, so the text remains readable, and the entire comment is preserved without any loss of content.
Automatic time registration during matter creation in CMI failed due to missing Responsible Attorney (3533)+
When a matter was created via the CMI form with automatic time registration enabled (set up under CMI Setup → Matter Time Registration), the time entry could be created with an error. The error appeared as "the following information is missing: Responsible Attorney" on the time entry — even though the Responsible Attorney field was actually filled in correctly in the CMI form before the matter was created.
The cause was a sequencing issue in the internal process: the time entry was validated before the matter's contact information had finished being created. The process has now been corrected so the time entry is created after all necessary information on the matter is in place, allowing validation to complete correctly.
The fix applies to both regular matter time registration and time registration related to KYC.
