New Features New Features

Case Work

Client statement is now selected via report selection instead of a fixed report (3630)+

The client statement has been extended with the option to choose between different reports, so customers can use their own version. When a user prints the statement from the client card or client list, it is now possible to set up which report version to use. By default, Abakion Legal's client statement runs, but administrators can configure other reports via the Report Selection - Abakion Legal setup page.

Scheduled statements run via the job queue also respect this setup.

New setup field for automatic setup of archive access and cleanup of unused allowed accesses (3644)+

On the AbakionLegal Setup page, you can now specify which Allowed Access a matter automatically receives when it is archived. The field is called Archive Access ID, and if it is set to 0, the matter retains its current allowed access upon archiving.

A new batch job, Security Set Cleanup, has also been added, which cleans up the list of allowed accesses by removing those that are no longer in use.

Finance

The Word report generating the reminder mail content is updated with more matter information (3642) (3552)+

The reminder mail (Word reminder) has been updated with a range of merge fields that existed in the previous NAV solution but were not updated during the transition to Business Central. Among other things, the sender's name, phone number, and email, reminder amount, interest amount and fees, payment ID, payment terms, and the matter number and recipient's country name have been added.

Which contact is shown as the sender can now be controlled via the new "Reminder From Relation" field on the Invoicing Setup page. If the field is empty, the user who runs the report is shown. If the field is filled in, the relation from the matter specified in the field is inserted instead.

A new field, "FIK/Giro No.", has also been added to the responsibility center, so a responsibility center can have its own FIK/Giro number on reminder letters, which overrides the number from company information.

The reminder process can now be completed without the posted sales invoice, and a prepaid on-account amount can be included on the reminder (3643)+

Previously, a reminder could not be completed if the posted sales invoice had been deleted or did not exist — for example, with data converted from another system. The invoice PDF could not be attached to the mail, and the Show Invoice function returned an error. This has now been fixed: the reminder can be created, issued, printed, and mailed even when the invoice is missing. If the invoice PDF is missing, the reminder mail is sent without an attachment instead of failing.

If the posted invoice still exists, its information is used as before. If it does not, the recipient name and email address are instead retrieved from the invoice recipient, then the matter, and finally the client — the same order as used for invoicing.

A new field, Prepaid Amount, has also been added to the customer ledger entry (visible on Customer Ledger Entries and related views, but hidden by default). The field shows a prepaid on-account amount and is automatically included in the reminder's outstanding amount and totals. The field is filled in automatically at invoice posting based on a comment line with a positive amount — payment lines do not count — and can also be corrected manually on the customer ledger entry, where a manual correction always takes precedence over the invoice's value.

Note: an invoice whose customer ledger entry is DKK 0 and thus already closed can never become a reminder candidate. This also applies to an invoice that consists only of comment lines with amount information without an actual invoice amount — a prepaid amount on such an invoice therefore cannot be reminded.

Sales Documents

New option to hide the VAT-exempt marking on sales documents (3550)+

It is now possible to turn off the *-marking on VAT-exempt lines on sales documents. Previously, all VAT-exempt lines were always marked with an asterisk and an accompanying explanatory text at the bottom of the document.

A new field, Hide VAT Marking on Sales Documents, has been added on the Invoicing Setup page, under the Sales Documents group. When the field is enabled, neither the asterisk on the lines nor the explanatory text at the bottom is shown. The field is turned off by default, so existing customers experience no change.

The change applies to invoices, credit memos, and drafts, and has been implemented in all relevant reports.

Bug Fixes Bug Fixes

Case Work

The "From Posting Date" field was shown twice on the Move Job Ledger Entries page instead of "To Posting Date" (3530)+

On the Move Job Ledger Entries page, the second date field was shown as From Posting Date instead of To Posting Date when Business Central is run in Danish.

The translation of the field has now been fixed, so the two fields are correctly named From Posting Date and To Posting Date. There is no change to the functionality itself — only to the displayed text.

The "Work in Process - Responsible" report failed for client/contact names over 80 characters (3601)+

The Work in Process - Responsible report could not be printed if the client's or contact's name was longer than 80 characters. Instead of the report, the user received an error message that the name was too long.

The error has now been fixed, so the report supports names of up to 100 characters, matching the maximum length a client/contact name can have. The report can now be printed correctly without the name being truncated.

Posted time deleted from the time queue could still be seen in Job Ledger Entries when looked up from an amount field on the Job List (3619)+

When looking up from an amount field on the Job List to Job Ledger Entries, entries that had been deleted from the time queue could incorrectly appear in the list.

The filter that excludes these entries was not set correctly, even though it already worked when looking up from other places, e.g. the Timer FactBox. The filter has now been added, so deleted time-queue entries no longer appear in Job Ledger Entries when looked up from the Job List.

Certain fields on job ledger entries were not updated correctly during conversion to local currency (LCY) (3622)+

When a job ledger entry was converted to local currency in connection with fee allocation, certain fields — which normally mirror values from other fields on the entry — were not updated along with the conversion. This could cause the information on the job ledger entry to be inconsistent after the conversion.

These duplicate fields are used solely to optimize performance across apps and are not something the user sees or works with on a daily basis.

The error has now been fixed, so the fields are automatically updated correctly every time a job ledger entry's amount is converted to local currency.

New fields for written-off quantity and amount on job ledger entries (3666)+

Two new fields have been added to job ledger entries: Written-Off Quantity and Written-Off Amount. The fields show how much of an entry has been written off in a full time write-down.

The fields are part of a larger upcoming feature for partially billable time and are not yet ready for use.

Invoicing

Invoice drafts and credit memo drafts could be posted to an archived matter (3621)+

It was possible to post an invoice or credit memo draft to a matter, even if the matter had been archived in the meantime. This gave an archived matter a balance again, without any warning during posting.

A block has now been added at posting: if the invoice or credit memo is linked to a matter that is archived, posting is stopped with the error message "Matter no. %1 is archived and cannot receive further entries." The archiving process itself has not been changed.

The "Job Ledger Entries" shortcut on posted invoices showed no entries for split invoices (3623)+

When opening the Job Ledger Entries shortcut from a posted sales invoice that was a split invoice, the list showed no entries if opened from an invoice in the split other than the first one posted.

The shortcut previously filtered on the first posted invoice in the split. The filter has now been fixed so it matches regardless of which invoice in the split the shortcut is opened from — in line with how Show Allocation already handled this.

The fix works both from the posted invoice and from the list of posted invoices.

Faster calculation of billable amounts on job tasks during invoicing (3633)+

The calculation of billable amounts on job tasks has been optimized so it now runs faster — particularly when creating invoices for matters with many job tasks.

Previously, the system had to look up the amounts by combining data from several tables for each job task. This has now been changed so the calculation can be performed directly, reducing load and making the process more efficient — without changing the invoiced amounts.

Invoice creation with many time entries has become faster (3635)+

When an invoice with many time entries was generated, it could take noticeably long, especially for invoices with a large number of time entries spread across multiple employees and matters.

Invoice creation has now been optimized so the process runs faster for invoices with many time entries. The distribution of time and amounts on the invoice remains exactly the same as before — how amounts or distribution are calculated has not changed, only how long it takes.

Updating disbursements on invoice drafts did not always catch new disbursement entries (3637)+

When a user clicked Re-create Invoice in Invoice Controlling, the system was supposed to find entries that had been added since the last update. On the disbursements page, there were two situations where a disbursement was not caught: if a disbursement was posted with an earlier date than the other entries on the matter (e.g. a late-registered invoice from last month), or if a consolidated invoice covered multiple matters and the new disbursement was on a matter that did not come last in the matter order. In both cases, the invoice draft was therefore not updated with the new amount.

The error has now been fixed, so Re-create Invoice always correctly finds all new entries, regardless of posting date or which matter the entry is on. At the same time, the calculation has been made more precise and faster for time entries, so the button no longer unnecessarily indicates there is something new to update when that is not the case.

Approval of allocation could return an error due to invalid data (3640)+

In some cases, an allocation could not be approved. The system showed an error message stating that a matter was archived, even though this was not the case for the matters visible on the allocation.

The error was caused by a matter having been created without a number, which should not have existed, and which was inadvertently hit when the system cleaned up after approval. This has now been fixed, so approval is not affected by invalid data.

Faster calculation of amounts on allocation lines in invoicing proposals by Matter and Task (3660)+

Calculating amounts on allocation lines in invoicing proposals could take unnecessarily long, particularly when summing across Matter and Task.

A performance optimization of the underlying calculation has now been made, so these sums are calculated faster. In practice, this means invoices with fees are created faster, for example, when the invoicing proposal needs to calculate allocated amounts. The change does not affect how the amounts look or are calculated functionally — only the speed.

The Administration Reconciliation (Matter) report could not be found via "Tell Me" (3682)+

The Administration Reconciliation (Matter) report could previously not be found by searching in the "Tell me what you want to do" search field.

The report has now been made searchable, so it appears under Reports and Analysis.

Responsibility center on invoices was not filled in correctly (3684)+

During invoicing, the responsibility center was retrieved from the customer, even when it had been updated on the client card, resulting in an incorrect value on the invoice.

In addition, the client incorrectly had higher priority than the matter (contact) when determining the responsibility center. This has now been fixed, so the matter takes precedence over the client, and the invoice shows the correct responsibility center.

Finance

Default task automatically filled in on journal line when a matter is selected (3662)+

When users changed the Matter No. in a finance journal line, the Task No. was no longer automatically filled in with the marked default task if there were multiple tasks under the matter. The system would only auto-fill if exactly one task was present.

The logic for looking up the default task had not been ported to the Business Central version. We have now added automatic filling of the Task No. when the matter is changed — if a task under the matter is marked as default, that task is now used automatically.

Behavior after the fix: exactly one task under the matter → always used. Multiple tasks, one marked as default → the default task is used. Multiple tasks with no default → the user can choose freely.

Client Matter Intake

Party search in CMI showed a modal error with no option to adjust search criteria for over 1,000 records (3599)+

When searching for a party in CMI and the search returned more than 1,000 results, the search was interrupted with an error message, and the Contact and Relationship Search page was never shown. The user therefore had no way to adjust the search criteria and try again.

The error has now been fixed, so automatic search from CMI behaves like a manual search: when the 1,000-record limit is hit, the Contact and Relationship Search page remains open with the pre-filled criteria, and the message is shown as an inline warning directly on the page. The user can then adjust the criteria (e.g. turn off phonetic search or search only by registration number) and search again — without having to start over.

Sales Documents

Email address was broken across two lines in the sender block on standard sales documents (3555)+

When using standard sales documents, a long email address in the sender block at the top of the document could be broken across two lines instead of staying on one continuous line.

The column in the sender block has now been widened, so there is room for long email addresses without a line break. The block's position is unchanged and still aligns with the logo.

The change applies to invoices, credit memos, and drafts.

Time specification amount on invoice drafts was incorrect for multiple matters with the same resource on one invoice (3594)+

When printing the invoice draft, the amount in the time specification could become incorrect if the same resource (employee) had registered time on several different matters that were consolidated on one invoice — without using the "Allocate Across Matters" function. The amount for one matter's time entries could instead be affected by another matter's allocation.

The error has now been fixed, so each matter's time entries are calculated correctly based on that matter's own allocation. The grand total and any currency difference in the invoice draft are also correct, as they are calculated based on the same amount.

The fix only affects the invoice draft. The posted invoice was not affected by the error. The "Allocate Across Matters" function works as before.
