Release Summary

This release adds Package No. parity in the IC item-tracking pipeline and a configurable "Your Reference" auto-population, alongside a large set of setup-page clarity improvements, dimension and quantity sync fixes, and a simplified digital voucher and IC-determination flow.

New Feature

Package No. now flows across the intercompany boundary

Item Tracking's Package No. now travels between companies the same way Lot No. and Serial No. already do. Reservation entries, posted shipments and receipts, and downstream warehouse processes on the receiving side now carry the same package identification as the source.

Why it matters: Companies using package tracking get full traceability across intercompany transactions, matching the tracking depth already available for lots and serial numbers.

Configurable "Your Reference" auto-population

You can now choose whether Intercompany automatically fills the "Your Reference" field on Sales Orders it creates in the supplying company, instead of it always being overwritten with the originating sales order number.

Why it matters: Companies running a parallel integration — for example Microsoft's Dataverse/CE Sales mapping — can now leave "Your Reference" free for that integration to use.

Improvements

Clearer Intercompany Setup and IC Partner Card

The Intercompany Setup and IC Partner Card pages are reorganised around the company's role in the transaction, with plain-language captions and tooltips replacing technical groupings and placeholder text. Standard fields that must never be changed are now shown read-only.

Why it matters: Setting up an intercompany partner no longer requires knowing how the integration works internally.

Clearer field and page names

Several fields and pages have been renamed for clarity: the intercompany vendor field on the Sales Order Header is now called "Intercompany Vendor" instead of "Buy-from Vendor No.", the redundant "(Sales)" suffix has been dropped from the "Populate Your Reference with Sales Order No." setting, and the duplicate "Your Reference" field shown on the Sales Order when Intercompany is active has been removed.

Why it matters: Field names now describe what they actually do, and there's one clear place to look instead of two.

Connection URL is easier to set up

The Connection Details shown on the Intercompany Setup page now display the bare connection URL, ready to paste directly into a partner's setup. You can also paste the full URL copied from your browser's address bar — Intercompany automatically trims it to the correct format.

Why it matters: Onboarding a new intercompany partner takes fewer steps and fewer mistakes.

Full error text on failed IC transactions

Failed IC inbox transactions and direct web-service calls now capture the complete error message and originating call stack, instead of being cut off after 250 characters. A clear error is also now raised when a custom field mapping references a field that no longer exists, identifying the partner and field involved.

Why it matters: Diagnosing a failed intercompany transaction no longer means guessing at a truncated error message.

Per-location auto-post for intercompany sales orders

Auto-posting of incoming intercompany sales orders can now be configured per location on the IC Partner Card, with the existing partner-wide setting acting as the default for new locations.

Why it matters: Locations that require shipment or picking before posting no longer need to be handled as an exception to a single partner-wide setting.

Item Availability by Intercompany refreshes correctly

Changing the intercompany vendor on a sales order line now correctly refreshes Item Availability by Intercompany, so the figures shown always reflect the partner set on that line.

Why it matters: You always see live stock for the correct partner, not stale figures left over from a previous selection.

Standard BC intercompany setup pages point you to the right place

When Abakion Intercompany is active, Business Central's own Intercompany Synchronization Setup pages are now locked and redirect to the Abakion Intercompany Setup instead.

Why it matters: No more confusion between two intercompany setups that don't both apply.

Duplicate "Connect Externally Setup" entry removed

The IC Partner Card no longer shows two "Connect Externally Setup" navigation entries.

Why it matters: One clear path to partner connection setup instead of two, one of which didn't work as expected.

Bug Fixes

Drop-ship quantity changes now sync reliably

Quantity increases made by the intercompany supply company on a drop-shipped purchase order line are now reliably applied locally, including cases that previously fell outside the safeguard against stale confirmations.

Why it matters: Drop-ship purchase quantities stay in sync with what the supply company actually confirmed.

Dimension changes now reach your partner and survive re-release

Dimension changes made on a sales order after the linked intercompany purchase order already exists are now sent to the partner on re-release. Separately, dimensions set locally in the supply company are no longer overwritten when the sales company reopens and re-releases the order.

Why it matters: Dimensions stay accurate and in sync on both sides of an intercompany transaction, however many times an order is reopened and re-released.

Intercompany returns no longer become drop shipments

Intercompany no longer applies the vendor's purchasing code to sales return order lines, which previously could mark a return as a drop shipment and prevent posting to a bin-mandatory location.

Why it matters: Returns to bin-mandatory locations post correctly and create the expected warehouse entries.

Blank Time fields stay blank

A blank custom field of type Time is now transferred to the partner company as empty, instead of being filled in as 00:00:00.

Why it matters: Mapped Time fields no longer pick up an incorrect default value when there is no value to send.

More reliable partner setup during Assisted Setup

A generic company name auto-filled during Assisted Setup no longer causes web-service intercompany connections to fail, and error messages now identify partners by code.

Why it matters: Setting up a new intercompany partner through Assisted Setup works reliably out of the box.

Refactors

Continued compatibility with upcoming Business Central versions

Internal maintenance work keeps Intercompany compatible with upcoming Business Central platform versions, including migrating an event subscriber ahead of its planned removal by Microsoft.

Why it matters: Intercompany keeps working smoothly as Business Central is upgraded.

Redesign

Digital vouchers now use standard Business Central setup

Intercompany no longer generates digital vouchers itself. Standard Business Central Digital Voucher Setup is now the single place to configure whether a voucher is generated; Intercompany continues to transfer any resulting attachment between companies.

Why it matters: One setup to manage instead of two separate, overlapping ones.

Ship-to Contact supports up to 100 characters

The Ship-to Contact field now supports up to 100 characters across the Intercompany pipeline, matching the standard Business Central field length.

Why it matters: Releasing a sales order no longer fails because a longer Ship-to Contact value couldn't be transferred.

Simpler intercompany sourcing setup

Intercompany sales lines are now identified automatically from the intercompany vendor. Marking a Purchasing Code as "Intercompany" is no longer required or available.

Why it matters: One less setting to configure and get wrong when setting up intercompany sourcing.
