New Features

Subscription Job Queue

New Subscription Job Queue Setup page for fully automated subscription invoice creation without manual intervention.

A new Subscription Job Queue Setup page allows users to configure and schedule automatic creation of subscription invoices using Business Central's built-in Job Queue framework.

With this feature you can:

  • Configure date formulas for Include Up To Date, Posting Date, and Document Date — each with a live Example Date preview showing the calculated result based on today's date.
  • Set Invoice Per grouping (Customer, Subscription, or Line) and an optional Invoice Line Comment.
  • Define a full schedule including earliest start time, recurrence interval (minutes between runs or date formula), weekday selection, and inactivity timeout.
  • Use the Configure Job Queue toggle to create a Job Queue Entry automatically with status "On Hold" — then set it to "Ready" from the Job Queue Entry Card when ready to go live.
  • Use the Run Now action to execute the invoice creation immediately for testing or ad-hoc processing.
  • Monitor results through Last Run Information fields showing last run date/time, status (Success/Error), number of invoices created, and any error messages.
  • View the full execution history via the View Activity Log action.
  • Navigate directly to the linked Job Queue Entry Card or the standard Job Queue Entries list.

The Job Queue Entry is fully managed: scheduling fields on the Job Queue Entry Card are made read-only with a notification directing users to change settings from the Subscription Job Queue Setup page. Changes made directly on the Job Queue Entry are automatically synced back to the setup page.

A new Job Queue Category "SUBSCR" (Subscription Management) is created automatically for easy filtering in the Job Queue Entries list.

The Subscription Job Queue Setup action is also available directly from the Subscription Setup page under promoted actions.

Improvements

Branding

Rebranded user-facing labels to "Abakion Subscription Management" for clearer identification.

All activation prompts, setup wizards, and help-related labels now consistently reference Abakion Subscription Management instead of the generic "Subscription Management". This helps users clearly identify the app in environments where multiple extensions are installed, particularly as Microsoft introduces its own subscription management features in Business Central.

Affected areas include:

  • Activation notification and reminder messages
  • Install Guide wizard page captions and instructional text
  • Setup Guide wizard page captions and instructional text
  • Demo data setup confirmation prompt

Terminology

Renamed "Job No." and "Job Task No." to "Project No." and "Project Task No." on subscription order lines.

The fields previously captioned Job No. and Job Task No. on the Subscription Order subform are now labeled Project No. and Project Task No., aligning with Microsoft's rename of Jobs to Projects in recent Business Central versions.

Performance

Improved performance when checking for optional companion app integrations.

The checks for whether Document Customizer and Master Data Information companion apps are available now first verify that the extension is installed before performing the more expensive activation check. This reduces unnecessary overhead on every page load when these optional apps are not installed.

Demo Data

Demo data setup action is now conditionally visible based on environment data.

The Create Demo Setup Data action on the Subscription Setup page is now only visible when Item 1000 exists in the environment, preventing the action from appearing in production environments where Cronus demo data is not present.

Bug Fixes

Subscription Order

Fixed a typo in the "Next Invoicing Date" field caption on the Subscription Order page.

The caption for the Next Invoicing Date field on the Subscription Order page previously contained a stray quotation mark (Next Invoicing Date"). This has been corrected to Next Invoicing Date.
