It shows the operations that match your personal filters in Capacity Load Setup, with the context an operator needs: item, order quantity, sales order and customer, promised delivery date, the routing status of the previous operation and the quantity already finished on it. From Operation Lines you can allocate operators, change the manual priority, and launch **Start / Stop**, **Register Time** and **Register Output** for a released operation. **My Operations** is a separate, read-only list of production order operations that you can open from search. It shows the operation, its allocated resources and its planned start and end, and gives access to standard operation details (comments, tools, personnel, quality measures, allocated capacity, order tracking) and to **Start / Stop**. Both lists are sorted by **Manual Priority** and then by start date and time, so the most urgent work is at the top. How Operation Lines is filtered (status, dates, work and machine centers, routing status, first, last or next operation) is controlled by your own Capacity Load Setup line, as described in the Shop Floor Mobile overview. This page goes deeper into how those operation filters work and what you can do with an operation once you have found it. | Key Fact | Detail | | --- | --- | | Pages | Operation Lines (on Shop Floor Overview and the Shop Floor Tablet role center), My Operations, Allocated Resources, Routing Status Filter | | Sort order | Manual Priority, then starting date and time | | Actions on Operation Lines | Start / Stop, Register Time, Register Output, Show Production Order, Production Order Information | | Actions on My Operations | Start / Stop (Ctrl+F9), Comments, Tools, Personnel, Quality Measures, Allocated Capacity, Order Tracking | | Operation filters | Status, Production Order Filter, From Date, To Date, Location Code, Work Center Filter, Machine Center Filter, Show Machine Centers, Operation View, Only first operations, Only last operations, Only next operations, Process Code, Routing Status Filter, Previous Routing Status Filter | | Company-wide filter | Set Fixed Operation Filter on Shop Floor Setup (applies to Operation Lines) | | Operator allocation | Resource No. and Allocated Resources, released production orders only | | Related report | Calculate Next Operations | ## Getting Started 1. Open **Shop Floor Setup** and check that **Start / Stop (Flow)**, **Operation Time (Flow)** and **Output Qty. (Flow)** point to the flows you want operators to use. 2. Optionally choose **Set Fixed Operation Filter** to limit the operations everyone sees in Operation Lines. 3. Open **Shop Floor Overview**. Set **Status**, **From Date**, **To Date** and, if needed, **Work Center Filter**, **Machine Center Filter** and **Show Machine Centers**. 4. Set **Operation View** to decide whether operations are selected by overlap with the date range, by start, by end, or by start and end. 5. Use **Routing Status Filter** and **Previous Routing Status Filter** to narrow the list, and turn on **Only first operations**, **Only last operations** or **Only next operations** if you only need those. 6. Choose **Update Operations** to refresh Operation Lines. 7. Enter a **Resource No.** on an operation of a released order to allocate an operator. 8. Select a released operation and choose **Start / Stop**, **Register Time** or **Register Output**. ## Related Features Operation Lines takes its filters from your Capacity Load Setup line, the same line that drives the capacity calculation, so the dates and work center filters you use for capacity load also decide which operations you see. The registration actions open Mobile Flow flows configured on Shop Floor Setup, which are described in more detail under Mobile Production Flow. Allocating a resource to an operation can automatically create Mobile Flow time collectors for that operator. Manual Priority and Process Code are set on production orders and copied down to the operations, as described in the Shop Floor Mobile overview. ## User Stories ****Working through operations in priority order**** **As a** machine operator **I want to** see operations sorted by priority and start time **So that** I always pick up the most urgent job first **Setup:** 1. Open **Shop Floor Overview** and look at **Operation Lines**, or search for **My Operations**. 2. Operations with the lowest **Manual Priority** are listed first. Within the same priority, operations are sorted by starting date and time. 3. On **My Operations**, filter on **Resource No.** or **Allocated Resources** to see only the operations allocated to you. > **Note:** My Operations is not filtered automatically. It lists production order operations regardless of status and does not use your Capacity Load Setup filters or the fixed operation filter. Operation Lines does use them. ****Seeing order and customer context for each operation**** **As a** production foreman **I want to** see the item, order quantity and customer for each operation **So that** I understand what an operation is for without opening the production order **Setup:** 1. On **Shop Floor Overview**, look at **Operation Lines**. 2. Review **Item Number**, **Item Description**, **Order Quantity**, **Promised Delivery Date**, **Sales Order Number** and **Customer Name**. 3. Use **Show Production Order** to open the firm planned or released production order. > **Note:** Sales Order Number and Customer Name are only filled when the production order was created from a sales order. Promised Delivery Date comes from the production order. On My Operations, Sales Order Number, Customer Name, Prod. Order Description and Prod. Order Description 2 are available as hidden columns. ****Checking whether the previous operation is done**** **As a** machine operator **I want to** see the status and output of the previous operation **So that** I know whether material is ready for my step **Setup:** 1. On **Shop Floor Overview**, look at **Prev. Routing Status** and **Quantity finished on previous operation** in **Operation Lines**. 2. To list only operations whose previous step is finished, choose **Previous Routing Status Filter**, select **Finished** and choose **OK**. 3. Choose **Update Operations**. > **Note:** Quantity finished on previous operation is the output quantity posted on the previous operation of the same order line. It is empty for the first operation of a routing. ****Filtering operations on routing status**** **As a** production foreman **I want to** show only operations with certain routing statuses **So that** finished operations do not clutter the list **Setup:** 1. On **Shop Floor Overview**, choose **Routing Status Filter**. 2. Select one or more of **Blank**, **Planned**, **In progress** and **Finished**, and choose **OK**. 3. Choose **Update Operations**. > **Note:** The resulting filter is shown in the **Routing Status Filter** field and is saved on your Capacity Load Setup line. Clear all options to remove the filter. ****Selecting operations by start, end or overlap with the date range**** **As a** production foreman **I want to** choose how operations are matched to my From Date and To Date **So that** I can see, for example, only the operations that start this week **Setup:** 1. On **Shop Floor Overview**, set **From Date** and **To Date**. 2. Set **Operation View**: - **Total Operations**: operations that start on or before To Date and end on or after From Date. - **Operation Starts**: operations that start within the period. - **Operation Ends**: operations that end within the period. - **Operation Starts and Ends**: operations that both start and end within the period. 3. Choose **Update Operations**. > **Note:** Only work center operations are shown unless **Show Machine Centers** is turned on. With Show Machine Centers on and a **Machine Center Filter** entered, only operations on those machine centers are shown. ****Showing only the first or last operation of each routing**** **As a** production planner **I want to** list only the first or only the last operations **So that** I can follow when orders enter or leave production **Setup:** 1. On **Shop Floor Overview**, turn on **Only first operations** or **Only last operations**. 2. Choose **Update Operations**. > **Note:** A first operation is one with no previous operation, and a last operation is one with no next operation. When a fixed operation filter is set on Shop Floor Setup, the first and last operations are instead determined per production order among the operations that match the fixed filter. ****Showing only the next operation to work on**** **As a** machine operator **I want to** see only the next unfinished operation of each order line **So that** I do not start a step before the one before it **Setup:** 1. On **Shop Floor Overview**, turn on **Only next operations** and confirm that Next Operation should be updated. 2. Choose **Update Operations**. 3. To recalculate later for selected orders, choose **Calculate Next Operations** and filter on **Prod. Order No.** or **Item No.**. > **Note:** For each firm planned and released order line, the operation with the lowest operation number whose routing status is not Finished is marked as the next operation. The marking is stored, so it does not change by itself when an operation is finished. While Only next operations is on, you are asked to recalculate each time Operation Lines opens. ****Allocating an operator to an operation**** **As a** production foreman **I want to** allocate an operator to an operation **So that** everyone can see who is responsible for it **Setup:** 1. In **Operation Lines** on **Shop Floor Overview**, or on **Prod. Order Routing**, enter a **Resource No.** on an operation of a released production order. 2. The resource is added to **Allocated Resources**, and **No. of Allocated Resources** is updated. 3. To replace the operator, enter another **Resource No.** You are asked whether to delete the resources already allocated. If you answer no, the new resource is added alongside them. 4. To remove all allocations, clear **Resource No.** and confirm the question. > **Note:** Resources can only be allocated on released production orders. If **Auto-create Collector (Flow)** is set on Shop Floor Setup, time collectors are created for the resource when it is allocated. ****Allocating several operators to the same operation**** **As a** production foreman **I want to** allocate more than one operator to an operation **So that** team jobs show everyone involved **Setup:** 1. In **Operation Lines**, choose the assist button on **Resource No.** to open **Allocated Resources** for that operation. 2. Add a line per operator with **Resource No.** and, optionally, **Description** and **Time Type**. 3. **Allocated Resources** on the operation lists all allocated resource numbers in brackets, for example [R0010][R0020]. > **Note:** You can also search for **Allocated Resources** to see all allocations across orders, with the operation's status, setup time and start and end dates and times. Deleting an allocation removes it from the operation, and clears Resource No. if it was that resource. ****Starting, stopping and reporting on an operation**** **As a** machine operator **I want to** start and stop an operation and register time and output from the list **So that** my registrations are made against the right operation **Setup:** 1. Select an operation of a released order in **Operation Lines** or **My Operations**. 2. Choose **Start / Stop**. On My Operations you can also press Ctrl+F9. 3. In **Operation Lines**, choose **Register Time** or **Register Output** to register time or output quantity. 4. The flow opens with the production order, order line and operation already selected. > **Note:** Register Time and Register Output are only available on Operation Lines. The actions stop with an error if the order is not released or the matching flow field on Shop Floor Setup is empty. ****Looking up operation details from My Operations**** **As a** machine operator **I want to** open the comments, tools and quality measures for my operation **So that** I have the instructions I need at the machine **Setup:** 1. Open **My Operations** and select an operation. 2. Choose **Comments**, **Tools**, **Personnel** or **Quality Measures** to open the standard information for that operation. 3. Choose **Allocated Capacity** to see the capacity need of the operation, or **Order Tracking** to see which demand the production order supplies. > **Note:** Allocated Capacity is not available for operations on finished orders. ****Re-prioritising an order from the operation list**** **As a** production foreman **I want to** change the priority of an operation directly in the list **So that** I can react to rush orders without opening the production order **Setup:** 1. In **Operation Lines** on **Shop Floor Overview**, change **Manual Priority** on an operation. 2. Confirm the question to copy the priority to the production order, its lines and its other operations, or decline to change only this operation. 3. Choose **Update Operations** to re-sort the list. > **Note:** A lower number sorts first. New operations start with priority 20. To limit Operation Lines to one process code, use the hidden **Process Code** column on **Capacity Load Setup**. ## Field Reference | Field name | Where to find it | What it does | Default value | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Manual Priority | Operation Lines, My Operations | Sorts the operation lists.
