Many companies already use payment slips (indbetalingskort) on their printed invoices and need the same payment reference to follow the invoice when it is sent electronically. This setting makes sure your customer can pay the electronic invoice correctly, and that the incoming payment can be recognized and applied to the right invoice afterwards. ## Feature Overview FIK Payment Means controls which payment details are sent when an electronic invoice is created and sent through the Sproom service. By default, the OIO-UBL invoice contains the standard payment details generated by Business Central. When the **Payment Means** field on the **Sproom Service Settings** page is set to **FIK Payment Means**, the invoice's payment section is replaced with an FIK payment instruction. The instruction contains the due date, a 15-digit payment ID calculated from the invoice number, the company's creditor number for payment slips, and the bank account, bank branch number, SWIFT code, and bank name from **Company Information**. The result is that customers — public sector and private alike — can pay your electronic invoices without typing in the payment reference manually, and accounts receivable receives payments that are easy to match. ## Typical Use Cases - A company uses payment slips on all printed invoices and wants the electronic invoices to carry the same payment reference, so customers pay the same way regardless of invoice format. - A supplier invoices Danish municipalities and regions via OIO-UBL. The authority's payment system reads the FIK payment ID directly from the electronic invoice, so payment is not delayed by a missing reference. - As an accounts receivable employee, I want each incoming payment to include a payment ID derived from the invoice number, so that I can quickly apply payments to the right open entries. - A group has several companies sharing the same creditor number. By setting an **Apply FIK Suffix Digit** per company, the payment IDs stay unique even if two companies use the same invoice numbers. - A consultant setting up electronic invoicing for a client with many FIK payments selects FIK Payment Means once, company-wide, instead of handling payment references invoice by invoice. ## Key Concepts - **FIK (Fælles Indbetalingskort)** — the Danish standard for payment slips. The app uses card type +71, where the payment ID identifies the individual invoice. - **Payment ID** — a 15-digit number built from the invoice number, leading zeros, and a check digit. This is the number your customer enters when paying. - **Creditor number** — the company's creditor number for payment slips, taken from **Company Information** and sent as the receiving account. - **Apply FIK Suffix Digit** — an optional extra digit inserted between the invoice number and the check digit in the payment ID. - **Default behavior** — with **Payment Means** set to **Standard Payment Means**, the standard payment details are sent without an FIK instruction, which is the original behavior of the app. ## Relations to Other Features or Apps FIK Payment Means is part of the document content options on the **Sproom Service Settings** page, alongside options such as **Enable Attachments**, **Include Invoice as PDF**, and **Use Your Ref. as Order Ref. ID**. It builds on the OIO-UBL document format provided by Microsoft's OIOUBL extension and takes bank and creditor details from the standard Business Central **Company Information** page, so the same master data is used for printed and electronic invoices. The setting applies to all electronic sales invoices sent through the Sproom service for the company. ## Frequently Asked Questions **How is the FIK payment ID on an electronic invoice created?** The FIK payment ID is built from the invoice number, optionally followed by the FIK suffix digit, padded with leading zeros and ending with a check digit, for a total of 15 digits. Invoice numbers must therefore consist of digits only and be short enough to fit within the payment ID. **Does FIK Payment Means apply to credit memos as well as invoices?** No — FIK Payment Means is added to electronic sales invoices only. Electronic credit memos are sent with the standard payment details, because the customer does not pay an amount on a credit memo. **What information must be filled in to send invoices with FIK?** FIK invoices require the creditor number for payment slips, bank account number, bank branch number, and bank name to be filled in on **Company Information**; the SWIFT code is included when it is filled in. If this information is missing, Sproom may reject the document with a hint to check the bank account and payment means on **Company Information** or the customer. ## When This Feature Adds Value - You already use payment slips on printed invoices and want the same payment experience on your electronic invoices. - Your customers — especially Danish public-sector institutions — process OIO-UBL invoices automatically and expect a machine-readable payment reference. - Accounts receivable spends time on manual payment application or misdirected payments because incoming payments lack a unique reference to the invoice.
